Most gut health advice is either oversimplified or overwhelming. These quick fixes can be pieces of the puzzle, but they rarely address the full picture of how your nervous system, history, and daily patterns affect digestion.
What’s really going on:
Brandon is not a doctor or dietitian. His role is to help you work with your nervous system, habits, and daily patterns so your gut has a better chance to settle—ideally alongside support from your medical and nutrition team when needed.
4-step process
Map what’s really happening: when symptoms show up, what they feel like, how often, and what else is going on around them (stress, sleep, travel, training, certain foods). You’ll look for patterns in timing, context, and triggers, not just individual “bad foods.”
Identify the main factors that seem to amplify your gut issues: rushing meals, eating while stressed or distracted, irregular meal timing, certain patterns of food (rather than single ingredients), low movement, constant nervous-system activation, or recovery debt. The aim is to find the two to three levers most likely to bring some relief.
Run realistic experiments: slowing meals down, adjusting timing and structure of eating, pairing certain foods differently, adding gentle movement or walks, using nervous-system drills to downshift before or after meals, and setting up “safe meal” days during high stress. Each experiment asks, “Did my gut feel a little calmer, the same, or more upset?”
Create flexible routines that respect your gut without taking over your life: simple go-to meals, strategies for eating under stress or travel, planning around known triggers without fearing every bite, and daily practices that support your nervous system and digestion together. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s more predictability and less fear.

About Your Coach
Brandon Day is a Pain and Performance Coach who pays close attention to how the gut, nervous system, and the rest of the body interact. He’s not a GI doctor or dietitian, and he doesn’t diagnose or treat medical conditions. Instead, he helps you understand patterns, reduce nervous-system load, and build routines that support your gut alongside any medical or nutrition care you’re already receiving.

Common Questions
No. Brandon does not diagnose or medically treat IBS, IBD, SIBO, or any other GI condition. If you have or suspect a gut condition, you should be under the care of a physician and, ideally, a registered dietitian. Coaching can complement that care by helping you implement lifestyle and nervous-system changes that support your gut day to day, within the guidelines your healthcare team has given you.
Not necessarily. Many people have chronic gut issues without clear labels, or have been told they have “IBS” without much practical guidance. If you have new, severe, or worsening symptoms—blood in stool, unexplained weight loss, fever, severe pain—you should see a doctor first. Once serious issues are ruled out or being treated, coaching can help you work on patterns and nervous-system support.
Not by default. For some people, certain restrictions may be medically necessary and should be guided by a doctor or dietitian. Brandon will never override that. In coaching, the focus is less on building a forever “bad foods” list and more on noticing how combinations, timing, pace of eating, and stress affect your gut. You may experiment with adjusting certain foods, but the aim is clarity and calm—not endless fear and restriction.
No. Brandon doesn’t prescribe medical protocols or sell supplements. Instead, you’ll look at your real life and build small, testable changes around stress, nervous-system state, movement, meal structure, and routine. If you’re already on a protocol from a doctor or dietitian, coaching can help you implement it more smoothly and adjust your lifestyle around it.
That’s normal. Gut issues are intimate and often come with shame or embarrassment. Brandon is used to talking about digestion in plain, respectful language and framing it as a normal part of being a human with a body. You’re not expected to share more than you’re ready to, and your comfort is part of the process.
It depends on how long you’ve been dealing with gut symptoms, what other factors are involved (stress, pain, sleep, diagnoses), and what your goals are. Some people find a short series of three to six sessions helpful to gain clarity and start feeling more stable. Others choose longer-term coaching as part of a broader 100-day or multi-phase plan. You’ll discuss a realistic path after the first session.
Yes, with your permission. Brandon is happy to work within the recommendations your healthcare team has given you and to communicate with them when appropriate. His role is to support you in applying those recommendations in a way that fits your actual life and nervous system.
Sessions are primarily held online via secure video, so you can join from home or wherever you feel comfortable—often ideal for talking about gut issues. If you’re local and interested in in-person work, you can mention that in your intake form and Brandon will let you know what’s currently available.
